Scenic sites and fascinating runes

Walking around in Danderyd you'll find both ancient burial grounds, a church and a castle that dates back to the 17th century, small crofts, estates and fantastic villas. These are parts of our cultural heritage showing the evolution from the small iron age societies to the rich suburban area it is today.

Excursions close to Danderyd

• The botanical gardens, Bergianska, 10 minutes south of Danderyd by car. Displays unique greenhouses and gardens.
• Cosmonova near the university. Has the largest cinema screen and Sweden's most modern planetarium.
• The museum of Natural history, next to Cosmonova
• Täby racecourse, 10 minutes north of Danderyd. It has several restaurants, pubs and outdoor areas in connection with the races.
• Vaxholm, the town in the archipelago. 20 minutes north-east of Danderyd by car.
